Accessibility Statement

This statement applies to content published on the the Utterby Parish Council domain.

This website is run by Utterby Parish Council. It is designed to be used by as many people as possible. The text should be clear and simple to understand. You should be able to:

  • zoom in up to 300% without problems
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • use most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

How accessible this website is

Parts of this website are not fully accessible. For example:

  • some document attachments are not clearly written
  • some graphics and document attachments may have poor colour contrast
  • some images do not have good alternative text on older attached documents
  • some forms that the website may link to may not be on an accessible platform
  • some documents are in PDF - mainly the magazine pre June 2020 editions are not accessible to a reader
  • some images may be of text and if a text alt tag is added.

  5. PDFs which have been scanned prior to September 2020 that did not have readable text content - some of  these can be requested as word documents but some are old documents where there is no original file and so the content is not within the scope of the accessibility regulations.
  6. Images on pages which do not always have suitable alternative text.- to change to a decorative image style.under review by Linconshire County Council to fix their template by end February 2021.
  7. Video which do not have subtitles, but are on Youtube so the subtitling service can be used to generate subtitles –  This is related to WCAG 2.1A success criteria 1.2.2 (Captions (Prerecorded)) and 1.2.3 Audio Description or Media Alternative (Prerecorded).- ongoing to any videos linked to.

We plan to fix issues that are identified to us as soon as we can.
